The Norwich Deaf Youth Club (NDYC) is putting on a summer project this year in a bid to bring new, fresh members to the club.
We have an exciting line up of activities and events taking place between 1st July and 30th September; it was put together following feedback and ideas from some youth we contacted on what they wanted from the club. We are bowling, sumo wrestling, abseiling, laser quest, canoeing, rock climbing and much much more!
The project has already been well received; it was officially announced on Saturday and we already in excess 10 new members signing up to take part in the project. However, we don't want it to stop there, we want to see as many youth as possible come and enjoy our events. NDYC is targeted towards anyone between 11 and 18 years old (although some flexibility may be allowed where someone outside of these ages would benefit, up to the age of 25). Most importantly, the club is open to youths with or without a hearing loss; hearing, hard of hearing and Deaf youths. It doesn't matter whether they sign or not, they just have to be interested in socialising with other deaf peers.
Anyone is more than welcome to give NDYC a try, although I recommend that they make contact with NDYC on the details provided on the poster/event programme attached so that we can make sure we have enough spaces - in particular the outings using the minibus have limited spaces and are on a first come first served basis.
Thanks for all your help - if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.
